Melita s customer satisfaction ratings continue to improve

Melita Ltd’s customer satisfaction ratings continue to improve as its investments in people, infrastructure, technology and systems keep bearing fruit. These investments include the recent launch of an AI-powered chatbot on the Melita website which is successfully handling the more routine customer enquiries, giving the customer care team more time to dedicate to queries that require personal attention. As a result, Melita’s customer satisfaction score has reached an all-time high of 9.1 out of 10 as measured by the international organisation NiceReply. These gains are in line with findings from the latest End User Affairs Report released by the Malta Communications Authority. This report reveals that while the overall number of complaints regarding telecoms providers grew by 45 per cent, the number of complaints regarding Melita declined and Melita customers made the fewest complaints.

More than 100,000 people in Malta affected by Facebook data leak

More than a fifth of the Maltese population - 115,366 people - have had their Facebook personal information posted on a hackers forum. The leaked information which had been put up for sale in January, has been uploaded for free. To access the data, one only needs to register on the website and send a message on Telegram. Although only a small fraction of the 533 million Facebook users affected by the leak, the number of people exposed in Malta puts the island in the top 10 EU countries affected. A report published on Saturday says that the personal data-sets leaked include phone numbers, Facebook IDs, full names, locations, birth dates and biographies.

Melita first in Malta to sign up 100,000 broadband subscribers

New figures released by the Malta Communications Authority show that Melita has continued to grow its broadband internet customer base, making it the first operator in Malta to sign up more than 100,000 subscribers. The latest data, covering July to September 2020, also shows that Melita took more than 50 per cent of new market growth in the broadband segment during that period. Mireille Muscat, head of marketing at Melita Ltd, said: “Melita is the only provider in Malta able to deliver 1,000 Mbps internet speeds nationwide. “This superior fibre-powered network, coupled with the complete home coverage of StellarWiFi, continues to prove popular with customers, especially during the current circumstances when people have been spending more time at home. Looking ahead, Melita remains committed to invest and innovate in order to continue on this positive path.”
