ONTARIO â The former head of human resources of Fry Foods who was facing nearly 20 felony charges in Malheur County after allegedly embezzling $70,000 from the companyâs Ontario and Weiser facilities and 13 federal charges, has pleaded guilty to some of those charges.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney - District of Idahoâs office on Tuesday, Douglas Wold pleaded guilty to one count each of wire fraud, mail fraud and money laundering based on his schemes to defraud his employer âduring the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.â
Wire fraud and mail fraud carry a penalty of up to 20 years in federal prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release. The penalty for money laundering is up to 10 years in federal prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release.
VALE â A Fruitland man who was facing a trial for the shooting death of 38-year-old Larry James Fuentes Jr., of Portland, on Nov. 18, 2018 has taken a plea deal and was subsequently sentenced to 20 years in prison.
According to a news release from Malheur County District Attorney David Goldthorpe on Friday afternoon, Jaime Anthony Escobedo, who was born in 1977, pleaded guilty on April 30 to manslaughter in the first degree and fleeing or attempting to elude police. The charges came after Escobedo followed Fuentes outside from where they had just been inside Los Patrillos restaurant, subsequently shooting him in the parking lot.
VALE â The final co-defendant in a murder trial was sentenced on Thursday following a plea hearing on April 28, in which he pleaded guilty to three charges stemming from the killing of Salvador Bahena Reyna on June 19 of 2020.
According to information received from Malheur County District Attorney David Goldthorpe, Angel Luciano Figueroa pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a felon in possession of a firearm after a judicial conference settlement.
Malheur County Circuit Court Judge Lung Hung sentenced Figueroa to 25 years in prison, comprising 15 years for manslaughter, and five years each for the motor vehicle and firearm charges, all of which will be served consecutively.
