A 20-year-old Orleans, Ont., man charged in a fatal stabbing New Year’s morning is to appear by video remand in North Bay Feb. 10.
Ghislain Nsengiyumva was charged Saturday morning with second-degree murder, uttering threats to cause death, assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.

Police announced Saturday morning that Ghislain Nsengiyumva was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, uttering threats to cause death, assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
Police say the investigation revealed that a social gathering had occurred at a residence on Gormanville Road.

The North Bay Police Service has confirmed one person is dead following a homicide over New Year’s.
A statement released by police says shortly after 2:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day, North Bay police and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to a location on Jane Street for a person in need of medical assistance.

An adult victim was found on the side of Jane Street. The person was transported to the North Bay Regional Health Centre, where the victim was pronounced deceased.
