Lok Adalat held at District Court Complex Janipur

Share Jammu: On the direction of Chairman National Legal Services Authority and under the aegis of Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairman J&K State Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammed Magre, a National Lok Adalat was today held in the District Court Complex, Janipur Jammu under the Chairmanship of M.L. Manhas„ Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Jammu. A total five benches were constituted at District. The first bench was presided over by M. L. Manhas, Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, assisted by R. S. Jasrotia, Presiding Officer, MACT, Jammu and Syed Saifraz Hussain Shah, Addl, Distt. Judge, (Bank Cases) Jammu and it dealt with MACT and Bank cases.

National Lok Adalat held at Srinagar, Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam and Kupwara

  Srinagar: In pursuance to the directions of National Legal Services Authority, the National Lok Adalat was today conducted at Srinagar, Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam and Kupwara districts of Kashmir division. The Lok Adalat was organised to settle Pre-litigation, pending cases in the courts particularly MACT, matrimonial, family disputes, labour disputes, civil and criminal cases, bank recovery cases, electricity and water bills besides cases related to other civil matters. At Srinagar: A National Lok Adalat was today organized under the Chairmanship of Pr. District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Mohammad Akram Choudhary at District Court Complex Moominabad Srinagar, in which cases as per NALSA directions were fixed.

Transgender person becames member of National Lok Adalat bench in Ranchi

In a first for Jharkhand, a transgender person became a member of a National Lok Adalat bench, organised by the District Legal Services Authority at the Ranchi civil court on Saturday. Amruta Alpesh Soni, 38, from Sholapur district in Maharashtra, was part of the National Lok Adalat’s bench number 19, which also comprised judicial magistrate, Ranchi, Manish Kumar Singh, and Nityanand Singh, panel lawyer (DLSA Ranchi). Lok Adalat is a forum where the disputes/cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/compromised amicably. The Lok Adalat has been given statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.

Representative image MANGALURU: The additional district and sessions judge, fast-track sessions court-1, (Pocso), Savithri V Bhat, on Friday sentenced a pigmy collector to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 1 lakh, in a case booked under the provisions of the Pocso Act. Special public prosecutor Venkataramana Swamy told reporters that in addition, the convict identified as Shashi aka Shashikumar,28, will have to undergo seven years of RI and pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for crimes committed under IPC section 376 (rape). Out of the total amount collected, Rs 1 lakh will go to the survivor, and the court has also directed the District Legal Services Authority (DSLA) to provide the survivor compensation of Rs 2 lakh.
