Swindon Magistrates Court A CONVICTED sex offender walked from court with a suspended jail sentence after she admitted breaching a court order aimed at limiting her access to the web. Alex Smith, 28, who was given a community order in 2019 for exactly the same offence, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment suspended for two years. In March, Smith, of Beaulieu Close, Toothill, pleaded guilty to a single charge of breaching her sexual harm prevention order by failing to disclose a device for inspection by her offender manager. Smith, then known as Matthew Burren, was given a sexual harm prevention order in 2015 after she was caught with prohibited images of children a second time and admitted being in contact with children online.
