Court hears 45 year old claimed threats to kill were in jest A 45-year-old man who made threats to kill against a woman has received a suspended sentence. Michal Priebe, of Windmill Heights, Enniskillen, was convicted of the single charge at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday. The court heard that on October 6, 2020 the defendant made threats against a woman to another person, telling them he would get someone from Poland to open her up and spill out her guts. The victim also reported that at Cherrymount Roundabout in Enniskillen, as she was leaving her children to school, Priebe pulled out in front of her forcing her to brake and she believed he did it on purpose as he knew her vehicle.

Michael Mallon, of Kilmacormick Avenue, Enniskillen, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday to contest a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault related to incidents with his former partner on June 23, 2019, and March 30, 2019 respectively. Following submissions about the admission of 999 calls and bodywork footage into evidence, the common assault charge was dismissed. However, the actual bodily harm charge proceeded, with the court regarding the recording of the 999 call made by Mallon’s former partner in the early hours of June 23, and also the body-worn footage from the police officer who attended the incident.

Court hears man was ‘unlawfully at large since March 1, 2017’ A 49-YEAR-OLD man who failed to return to prison after he was granted leave more than four years ago was remanded back in custody. Martin Maughan, with an address of Hudson Heights, Irvinestown, appeared via videolink at Enniskillen Magistrates Court to face the charge of being unlawfully at large since March 1, 2017. An officer told the court they were able to connect the defendant to the charge. The court heard that Maughan was serving a sentence in Magilligan Prison which had three weeks left. The defendant was out on leave and did not return, with his solicitor, Tommy Owens, telling the court the reason he did not return was because he was under pressure to bring drugs into the prison on his return, and had fears for his safety.
