A San Luis Obispo County jury found Jason Delante Wheeler, 38, of Oceano guilty of eight felony sex crimes, including four counts of forcible rape of a minor.
District Attorney Dan Dow says that after a five-day trial Wheeler was found guilty of eight felony sex crimes committed against a 16-year-old young woman he had a legal duty to care for and protect.
These crimes spanned from May 15, 2019, through March 7, 2020, and Wheeler was 36 years old when he began committing the criminal acts.

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced that an Oceano man was found guilty of eight sex crimes, including four counts of forcibly raping a teenage girl.
38-year-old Joshua Delante Wheeler was convicted by a San Luis Obispo County jury on Thursday for committing these sex crimes against a young woman he had a legal duty to care for and protect.
The District Attorney s Office said these crimes were committed from May 15, 2019, through March 7, 2020. Wheeler was reportedly 36 years old when he began committing the crimes.

–After a two and one-half week-long jury trial, a San Luis Obispo County jury found Cody Julian, 31, of Arroyo Grande guilty of multiple sex crimes against a minor child to include lewd acts with a child and substantial sexual abuse of a child under 10 committed in 2016.
“We thank the jury for their efforts in this sensitive and emotional case,” said District Attorney Dan Dow. “The survivor demonstrated remarkable courage by reporting the crimes and participating in the criminal and victim justice process necessary to bring this predator to justice. We are optimistic that this conviction will encourage victims of sexual assault to report the conduct to law enforcement.”
