(WALB) - A Valdosta teen remains in critical condition Monday after a shooting involving a family member, according to Valdosta Police Department (VPD). Police said the It’s unclear the exact house it was. Police said the gun didn’t come from the parents and there is no motive at this time. The shooting happened on the 2100 block of Melrose Drive. (WALB) - A Brooks County Sheriff’s Office investigator that is facing several sex offenses was also found out to be a pastor, according to officials. He has since resigned from his position with the sheriff’s office. Wilbur Cope has been released on bond as of Wednesday, according to the Brooks County Jail. (WALB) - A Lowndes County grand jury has returned a true bill, indicting John Lewis Shearer, 38, for sexual exploitation of children, for having hundreds of images and videos of underaged children in sexually explicit conduct. He was arrested in September 2019, and the indictment was returned on Jan. 29 of this year, according to District Attorney Brad Shealy of the Southern Judicial Circuit. The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office in Martinez, California was also involved in this investigation, according to the indictment.
