MASSENA — Now that school doors are closed for the summer, contractors are working simultaneously on two phases of the Massena Central School District’s $49.6 million capital project. “We have a lot of construction under way,” said Edward Bernhauer, an architect for the IBI Group, the district’s architectural firm. He said work being done was the second summer of phase one, a carryover from 2020, and the initiation of phase two. Phase one work is primarily site work, as well as roofing work and roofing replacement. “What that basically does is makes all of our facilities and all of our buildings active with work currently going on,” Mr. Bernhauer said.
