Mifflin County High School is closed today (April 29
th) through Sunday (May 2
nd) due to protocol after a sixth individual tested positive for COVID-19. Officials plan to have the school open for in-person instruction on Monday (May 3
rd). All events at Mifflin County High School scheduled through Sunday (May 2nd) have been cancelled. During the closure, teachers will execute a full remote learning plan.
Cause of death is undetermined for remains found in Huntingdon County. A State Police K-9 Unit responded to a search for a missing person on Tuesday on Broadtop Mountain Road in Coalmont. The unit discovered skeletal remains which were transported to Mercyhurst University Forensic Anthropology for processing. The case is under investigation by the Huntingdon State Police Crime Unit.

LEWISTOWN Mifflin County High School and The Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology announced Wednesday that both buildings will be closed until Monday due to the number of active COVID-19 cases within the schools.
Students at both schools The Academy serves students from both the Mifflin County and Juniata County school districts will receive remote instruction today and Friday, which will include synchronous live sessions for students. A schedule of these classes will be sent to parents and posted on the MCHS website.
The buildings will be thoroughly cleaned during the closure per Pennsylvania Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

The Mifflin County High School athletic department is having a fundraiser for its teams from April 19-23. Each team will be trying to raise the most donations possible for their team.
The school’s athletic department, like so many other groups/organizations/businesses, took a big hit during the pandemic. Let’s do what we can to ge the programs back on track! Donate what you can, and get more information, by clicking here. Every dollar helps! And you can pick the team you’d like to donate to, even though all money goes to the same place. Once the week is over, the team with the highest amount of funds raised will receive a pizza party and a fundraiser t-shirt!
