Lewistown Police Department ¯Reportable Vehicle Accident– On Jan. 18, at 7:14 p.m., officers from the Lewistown Borough Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of S Main and E Hale St for a reportable vehicle accident. Officers discovered that Damian M. Ritter, struck Jeremy M. Grose, while turning left from E Hale St. heading south on S Main St. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene by Parsons Towing. ¯Warrent– On Jan. 22, at 3:59 p.m., Lewistown Police spotted Noah Koenig, 22, of Lewistown, walking on E. Water St. Koenig was known to have an active warrent out of Mifflin County. He was arrested and booked in on his warrent.

aharpster@lewistownsentinel.com LEWISTOWN- Local man, Shawn Christopher Koch, 28, was arrested and charged with serveral crimes and traffic offenses related to his flight from officers. The Lewistown Police Department investigated a report of a male driving an unregistered vehicle at a high rate of speed through the area of Locust Street and Logan Street. There was an open contained of alcohol in the vehicle. The car did not have a license plate and the inspection expired in 2018. Officers remained in the area and the vehicle went mobile shortly thereafter. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Logan Street. The driver fled looping around the block before returning to the rear of 16 Locust Street. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot behind houses. The suspect was identified as Shawn Christopher Koch. Koch was taken into custody and resisted arrest. Koch was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown ¯Theft of Motor Vehicle – At 3:45 AM on Dec. 31st, police said a 15 year old male from Granville stole a 1986 blue Chevrolet truck from Granville Fire Company and drove it to Pheasant Valley Rd in Decatur Township where he crashed. ¯Harass Communication – At 9:28 PM on Jan. 5th, police responded to a harassment by communication on William Penn Highway in Fermanagh Township. No charges have been filed by request of the victim. ¯Drug Possession – On Jan. 4th at 5:13 PM, police arrested a 32 year old female and a 59 year old male on US22 W in Walker Township. Both suspects were from Altoona, Pennsylvania. The police were granted a search warrant after gaining suspicion of drug possession. Police discovered known and unknown controlled substances in the motor vehicle. Police are still investigating.

From staff reports LEWISTOWN A man who police say has had nine DUIs was found unresponsive last week in a vehicle in Derry Township containing several high-caliber firearms, according to a press release from Mifflin County Regional Police Department Police said they were dispatched to 406 Yale St. where EMS personnel discovered a male unresponsive and behind the wheel of a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner in an area where several children were playing and there were several bystanders. As the man, later indentified as Rodney L. Miller, of 108 Spring St. in Lewistown, became alert once more, he tried to exit the vehicle while it was moving and still in gear before being placed into park.
