REEDSVILLE Mann’s Narrows Road in Mifflin County was closed Monday afternoon as crews work to clear a rock slide that occurred Sunday night, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
PennDOT said the closure may last as long as three days.
Mifflin County Regional Police Department Chief Andre French said MCRPD officers were first notified of the issue at about 7:20 p.m. Sunday.
“As a result, PennDOT personnel evaluated the scene and, in the interest of public safety, determined this portion of roadway should be closed until further notice,” French said. “PennDOT is in the process of closing this road now. PennDOT will utilize their resources, to include PennDOT geologists, to evaluate the situation. The roadway will remain closed pending expert evaluation of the scene.”

LEWISTOWN A man who police say has had nine DUIs was found unresponsive last week in a vehicle in Derry Township containing several high-caliber firearms, according to a press release from Mifflin County Regional Police Department
Police said they were dispatched to 406 Yale St. where EMS personnel discovered a male unresponsive and behind the wheel of a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner in an area where several children were playing and there were several bystanders. As the man, later indentified as Rodney L. Miller, of 108 Spring St. in Lewistown, became alert once more, he tried to exit the vehicle while it was moving and still in gear before being placed into park.
