Christopher Golden lost conviction appeal in Montgomery County

Christopher Golden Posted: Apr 14, 2021 2:34 PM Posted By: Mel Carlock JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - A man lost his appeal of a robbery and kidnapping conviction in Montgomery County. The Mississippi Court of Appeals handed down the decision in the case of Christopher Golden. Witnesses identified Golden, 44, as the man who robbed the Magnolia Lodge on Sept. 10, 2016, then kidnapped the clerk and forced them to drive him to another location. A Montgomery County jury convicted Golden of the charges in 2019, and the judge sentenced him as a habitual offender to a total of 60 years in prison. Golden appealed, claiming the judge was wrong not to grant a jury instruction about possible mistaken identity and an alibi he was never at the hotel.
