MDOC is asking for help from Rankin County s district attorney Share Updated: 5:00 PM CST Feb 24, 2021 The Mississippi Department of Corrections is asking the Rankin County District Attorney to investigate the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility after the death of an inmate. MDOC Commissioner Burl Cain said he began an internal investigation into the death of Ronald Frederick Apgar, 39, over the weekend. According to Cain, Apgar died suddenly of causes that will be determined after an autopsy. The death investigation apparently involves a CMCF employee and Cain plans to turn over results of his internal investigation to Madison and Rankin County District Attorney Bubba Bramlett. “We have banned an employee in question at the front gate of CMCF,” said Commiss

RANKIN CO., Miss. (WLBT) - Mississippi Department of Corrections Commissioner Burl Cain is launching an investigation into the death of an inmate at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.
It stems from the death of 39-year-old Ronald Frederick, who died suddenly Friday night.
Frederick’s cause of death has not yet been determined as an autopsy has not been completed.
Cain says an employee at the facility has been banned at the front gate, and an investigation into the response time has been started.
The following people were booked into the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail in connection with felony charges:
Christopher Estes, 20, no address given, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, burglary of an auto, burglary of a dwelling.
Dillon McClure, 28, of Pontotoc, was arrested by the Baldwyn Police Department, burglary.
Renauldo Stewart, 36, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Verona Police Department, possession of a firearm by a felon, speeding, possession of marijuana.
Shawn Berrigan, 48, of Metarie, Louisiana, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, kidnapping, sexual battery.
Jeorte Juvon Braxton, 21, of Baldwyn, was arrested by the Baldwyn Police Department, burglary of a commercial building.
