JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The latest daily count of new COVID-19 cases in Mississippi came in at just more than 200.
The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 212 new coronavirus cases with two new coronavirus-related deaths Friday
One new death was reported April 20. The other was discovered during a review of death certificates from April 7.
The latest figures brought the state’s total cases and deaths since February 2020 to 310,349 and 7,175, respectively.

JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 212 new COVID-19 cases and 2 new deaths Friday, April 23.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 3 p.m. Thursday. One death occurred on April 20 in the county below:

As of Friday, April 23, there have been 310,349 total cases of the virus since mid-March 2020, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 7,175 total deaths.
Two deaths, more than 50 new COVID cases in Golden Triangle area

Although COVID vaccinations are rapidly being administered, cases are still spiking across Mississippi and the Golden Triangle area. This week alone, only 52 cases were reported in Clay, Lowndes, Oktibbeha and Noxubee counties between April 16-23.
Lowndes County still has the highest COVID-19 numbers in the four-county area with 6,316 total reported cases and 144 deaths since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, according to the most recent data from the Mississippi State Department of Health. There were 30 new cases and no deaths reported in the county over the past week.

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reports the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to over 310,100.
MSDH reported 319 COVID-19 cases and 10 additional deaths on Thursday, bringing the state total to 310,137 cases and 7,173 deaths.
Positive test results may have been made during the past several days and represent individuals who became ill a week ago or more.
In the eight Pine Belt counties, 33,381 COVID-19 cases and 681 deaths have been reported:
