These changes come as Gov. Tate Reeves continues his push to ramp up the vaccination rate.
The governor says a significant rise will start next week. He wants 100,000 doses of the vaccine to be administered every week starting in February.
Currently, the state only receives 37,000 doses of the vaccine a week.
It’s unclear if those doses will rise, but the Mississippi State Department of Health said an announcement will be made on Friday about the COVID-19 vaccine availability.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Officials with the Mississippi State Department of Health recently announced several milestones in the fight against COVID-19.
However, those successes are tempered by the news that nearly 1,000 people have died from the virus in the month of January.
“In December, the deaths that actually occurred during the month, we reached over 1,000,” said State Epidemiologist Dr. Paul Byers. “To date, in January, we have reached almost the same number – 935 - and we still have a couple of days left.”

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 2,186 new cases of the coronavirus and 38 coronavirus-related deaths on Friday.
Since the virus hit the state in March, a total of 272,662 cases and 5,983 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported.
More Mississippians have now died in January than any month since the state reported its first COVID-19 case in March.
The total number of coronavirus-related deaths for January is 1,167, according to state data. The previous record for coronavirus-related deaths in a single month was 983 during December.
