Power of Parenting is holding a virtual game night via Zoom from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
Join us and other parents and guardians, in a relaxing night of games and laughter the tasks of parenting during the past year have been challenging.

MARQUETTE Older adults in Michigan, who didn’t get much experience in the digital age and now are facing challenges finding COVID-19 vaccine information online, now have a place to get help.
Through its partnership with the national education technology company GetSetUp, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Aging & Adult Services Agency is offering a series of sessions to walk older Michiganders through the Michigan COVID-19 vaccine website.
$1 million goes to Matrix Human Services to help youth, seniors, vulnerable citizens in Michigan

In support of the Healthy Senior Living Initiative, the Michigan Health Endowment Fund gave Matrix a two-year, $381,150 grant designed to assist low-income seniors, 55 and over. Matrix says this grant will improve their overall health and nutrition, allowing them to age in place gracefully.
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and a private legacy fund awarded Matrix with a total of $95,000 in grants to provide our Youth Workforce Development Program virtual training work experience for adolescence 16 to 21 years old.

ROCKFORD, MI – Student mental health has always been at the forefront of educators’ minds at Rockford Public Schools, said Michael Ramm, assistant superintendent of instruction.
But as the coronavirus pandemic has left many people feeling more isolated than ever, Ramm said the district is bringing an “increased emphasis” to the social and emotional health of students this year, reaching out to those who may be at risk for mental health problems.

Oakland University has been awarded a $321,075 Healthy Aging grant by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund in support of the university’s HOP-UP-PT (Home-based Older Persons-Upstreaming Prevention-Physical Therapy) program.
The HOP-UP-PT program is housed in the School of Health Sciences and is designed to provide early preventative interventions to senior citizens at risk of being homebound by facilitating partnerships between community centers and local physical therapists.
