Federal Aviation Administration investigating plane crash at Cheboygan Airport

Cheboygan Daily Tribune CHEBOYGAN Around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post were called to a crash of a privately owned airplane at the Cheboygan County Airport, west of Cheboygan. When the troopers arrived on scene off East Levering Road, they began their investigation and found that the pilot had been approaching the airport from the west and was attempting to make a landing on the airport s runway. The pilot did not deploy his landing gear and the aircraft skidded approximately 150 yards on the runway, said Lt. Derrick Carroll, public information officer of the Michigan State Police Seventh District Headquarters.

Apr 13, 2021 HOUGHTON The Michigan State Police are currently conducting an investigation of an officer-involved shooting that took place in Houghton County Monday night, Michigan State Police Eight District Public Information Officer Lt. Mark Giannunzio confirmed in a phone interview this morning. The person who was shot was taken to the hospital but their condition is unknown at this time, he said. Officials with the Michigan State Police’s Seventh District from the northern Lower Peninsula have been investigating the scene since Monday night, according to Giannunzio. A Michigan man was arrested last week after providing state police officers with a fake name, which had active warrants out for his arrest. According to a press release issued by the Michigan State Police s Seventh District, the incident occurred on Friday, March 26, at about 6:30 a.m. local time in the city of Cadillac. While state troopers were driving on the M-55 highway in Clam Lake Township, they noticed a vehicle parked on the shoulder with its lights off. Troopers noticed a female in the driver s seat and a male in the passenger seat.
