Last night’s storms left fallen trees and power outages in the Marenisco area.
The Michigan State Police Wakefield Post is asking people to stay away from the area while crews clean up the damage. Energy companies are also working to restore power.
Marenisco’s main street was closed due to the damage, and detours around the area were set up.

GOGEBIC COUNTY, MI A Gogebic County man has been arrested in connection with domestic violence and drugs.
On Saturday two troopers with the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post responded to a suspicious situation at a residence at Anvil Location. The complaint was determined to be domestic violence-related.
Troopers tried to make contact with the suspect at his residence. While at the home officers observed drug paraphernalia and narcotics activity. They saw the suspect drive by the residence, made a traffic stop near the house and took him into custody.
The man was arrested for possession of meth, felon in possession of a firearm, and assault. Additional evidence from search warrants executed on the suspect’s residence and vehicle showed the man was maintaining a drug house.
ONTONAGON COUNTY, MI A man is lodged in the Ontonagon County Jail after leading sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase.
Friday around 10:25 p.m. an officer saw a vehicle whose driver was reported to be driving recklessly and had failed to pay for gas. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but the suspect took off at a high rate of speed, reaching more than 100 mph. The deputy learned the vehicle had been reported stolen from Wausau, Wisconsin the previous day.
The driver lost control of vehicle as he entered Rockland and fled on foot in temperatures of -15 degrees.
