Giovanni Hoyos-Jaimes, of New Brunswick shot the victim multiple times in the area of the Tov Manor Apartments on Phelps Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 28, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said Thursday night. The man survived his injuries after being treated at a city hospital. Hoyos-Jaimes is also charged with two weapons offenses, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and aggravated assault.

According to the lawsuit filed in Superior Court in Passaic County, 33-year-old Najeer Parks, says that he was held for more than a week in Middlesex County jail in early 2019 after being mistaken for a shoplifter who had driven from a hotel in Woodbridge and struck a police car in the process.
