86-year-old Athena Hartwell identified as woman killed after being hit by SUV while walking on sidewalk in Malden Updated Mar 09, 2021; The 86-year-old woman who died Monday afternoon after being struck by an SUV while walking on a sidewalk in Malden has been identified as a resident of a nearby elderly housing facility, according to authorities. Athena Hartwell was walking on Hunting Street in the area of Salem Street in Malden shortly before 1:40 p.m. when the driver of a Toyota RAV4 hit her with the SUV , according to a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office. A 28-year-old Malden man, who authorities are not identifying at this time, has been cited for driving a motor vehicle with a suspended license. A court date for the driver has not yet been scheduled, according to authorities.
