The Charles family shared the news via Twitter on Tuesday evening. “It is with a profoundly heavy heart and the deepest sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Midwin Charles,” the family tweeted. For many years, Charles appeared in print and television as a legal analyst providing analysis for some of the nation s most pressing legal cases. She also worked as a contributor for Essence Magazine. Not to mention, she appeared on CNN, MSNBC, HLN and Bloomberg TV. Beyond her time on television, Charles was a hardworking defense attorney at her own law firm, Midwin Charles & Associates. She earned a law degree at American University s Washington College of Law and worked as a law clerk for Judge
