St. Cloud police were called to the apartment complex on the 1400 block of 12th Avenue North at about 9:20 by someone saying they were the property manager and found the body inside one of the units. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the scene has not been classified as a crime, the death was labeled suspicious by police, and the crime scene team was called in, but police say that is standard procedure when there is a death in a home, regardless of the cause or manner.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called in to assist in the investigation Wednesday morning.
A 51-year-old man died after falling into Trout Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area on Monday, officials said.
Passengers in the boat dialed 911 at about 2:20 p.m. that afternoon on Memorial Day to report that the man fell into the water on the North arm of the lake, according to a news release from the St. Louis County Sheriffâs Office on Tuesday. Sheriffâs deputies said that âdue to poor cell phone reception, it took a period of time to ascertain from the reporting partyâ that the man was underwater for 2-3 minutes.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was reportedly not wearing a personal flotation device when he was sitting in a âpedestal type chairâ in the bow of a boat and fishing in the lake, according to a news release from the St. Louis County Sheriffâs Office on Tuesday. The other boat passengers told authorities they âsuddenly heard a splashâ and turned to see the man in the water.
