Lumberjack Days in Stillwater canceled for second year in a row STILLWATER, Minn. (FOX 9) - The annual Lumberjack Days event in Stillwater, Minnesota was canceled yet again. Organizers of the event said they had to cancel due to a lack of sponsorship funds, particularly due to changing COVID-19 restrictions.  Lumberjack Days in Stillwater canceled again Lumberjack Days in Stillwater was canceled again this year, but the city says there are plenty of other attractions making for a busy summer. The event was supposed to be held the weekend of July 24 and 25. The event organizers had not posted any promotions for the event on social media. Their website also did not list any updates for 2021 music acts or vendors. Organizers, a group called The Locals, did not respond to FOX 9’s request for comment.

Cannon Valley Fair Sees Huge Crowds The Cannon Valley Fair in Cannon Falls is a rare treat these days.  A community fair.  There is no other listing of a community fair on the Minnesota Federation of County Fairs website. After no fairs or community festivals a year ago the crowds have been very good at the Dam Days celebration in Morristown, Heritage Days in Faribault and now the Cannon Valley Fair in Cannon Falls. During a special broadcast from the fairgrounds in Cannon Falls we learned from fair organizers the Truck and Tractor Pull in the Grandstand Thursday was so large it didn t get over until 2:30 Friday morning.

[Listen] John Dvorak & Steve Storck MN Fed. of County Fairs Today s AM Minnesota Program was more hopeful for county fairs in Minnesota this summer given Governor Walz s announcement last week. However, Rice County Fair manager John Dvorak said things could change quickly if there is a spike in COVID-19 test results. However, plans will move forward for the Rice County Fair this summer. I did ask Steve Storck the President of the Minnesota Federation of County Fairs if they had some sort of safety guidelines for county fairs to adapt. Steve said that was more of a local issue with each county fair and their Public Health Department. It would be difficult to have one set of recommendations for the entire state of Minnesota.
