Child Pornography Charges Filed Against Milwaukee County Judge

Brett Blomme, age 38, was charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography. Each count is a Class D Felony, punishable by a fine of not more than $100,000 or imprisonment of not more than 25 years, or both. Each charge also requires a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 3 years initial confinement. The complaint alleges the defendant, a Circuit Court Judge in Milwaukee County, uploaded several images of child pornography through a messaging application in October and November 2020. Based upon records linking those uploads to the defendant, DOJ investigators obtained search warrants for the defendant, his chambers, his vehicle, and his residences in Milwaukee and Dane Counties.

Blomme, 38, was taken into custody by special agents with the state Division of Criminal Investigation  following an investigation into multiple uploads of child pornography through a Kik messaging application account in October and November 2020, according to a statement. Criminal charges are expected to be filed against Blomme on Wednesday. He was arrested in Dane County.
