Four bank employees were released as a stand-off between an alleged hostage-taker and police continued in Minnesota.
Three women and a man were released from a Wells Fargo Bank branch in St Cloud, according to authorities.
The first woman ran from the bank toward members of a special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team with her hands up.
She was searched and escorted to safety, with two women and a man later emerging from the bank and also taken to safety.

Wait There’s more … for
Derek Chauvin and three other ex-Minneapolis cops. And it’s not good. Federal prosecutors have now charged Chauvin the use-to-be Minneapolis police officer who was convicted of killing George Floyd and three other former officers (from that department) of civil rights violations tied to Floyd’s May, 2020 death.
The other three officers named in the federal indictment are J. Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao. If you recall, they were all on the scene when Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck for nine Plus minutes during an arrest.
The civil rights charges against Chauvin, Kueng, Lane and Thao include violating Floyd’s right to be free from unreasonable seizure and excessive force. All four officers were also charged for their failure to provide Floyd with medical care.

In Minnesota, a fight is playing out over electric vehicles. It got so heated this week that Republican lawmakers threatened to not pass a budget that would allow parks, zoos, and museums you know, largely outdoor places people can congregate safely if not vaccinated or live their best post-pandemic lives to open this summer.

At issue is whether Minnesota will adopt auto emissions standards based on California’s, a move already made by 15 other states. Those standards are stricter than the current federal standards. The move was first proposed by Democratic Gov. Tim Walz in 2019. Adoption of the standards would also mandate that more electric vehicles be sold in the state, all moves that would help Minnesota meet its climate goal of reducing emissions 80% by 2050.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. After an hourslong standoff Thursday, a hostage situation at a Wells Fargo bank in Minnesota ended without any injuries and an arrest, authorities said. A peaceful resolution, the best outcome we could have today, said St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson said at a news conference late Thursday.
Anderson described the suspect, identified as Ray Reco McNeary, as a disgruntled customer upset about a prior transaction. The branch manager called the police, Anderson said, and a short time later police received a panic alarm from the bank.
