Gaussin tests first e-vehicles Made in Qatar at Free Zone

The Peninsula Doha: Gaussin Company announced yesterday the testing of the first electric vehicles in Qatar at Ras Bufontas Free Zone. Gaussin, a leader in clean and intelligent cargo and people mobility, rolled out the first batch of Electric Terminal Tractors – the APM 75T – for QTerminals, a terminal operating company that manages and operates the first phase of Hamad Seaport.  The testing of the e-vehicles took place in front of Gaussin’s factory at Ras Bufontas Free Zone, and it was attended by Minister of State and Chairman of QFZA, H E Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed;  Ambassador of France in Qatar, Franck Gellet; CEO Qatar Ports Management Co. First electric tractors assembled in Qatar tested

Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has maintained a strong focus on using the latest technologies in the field of transport that advance environmental sustainability. In a statement, the Ministry announced that the first advanced electric tractors (APM 75T HE), fully assembled in Qatar in Ras Bufontas Free Zone have been delivered to QTerminals. These highly advanced electric vehicles will be used to transport containers at Hamad Port. His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti underlined that these tractors complement the MoTC’s Electric Vehicles Strategy, which endeavors to achieve a greener future for Qatar.
