MILLER COUNTY - The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating an early Friday morning shooting involving a Miller County Sheriff s Office deputy.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F, two deputies responded to a residence near St. Anthony around 2:35 a.m.
Deputies attempted to detain a 35-year-old male inside the home, but he resisted. The suspect then obtained a rifle from inside the residence and approached the deputies with a gun.Â
One deputy fired his gun, which struck the male suspect.Â
Deputies provided medical aid until EMS arrived. The suspect was then taken to a nearby hospital by helicopter.

KTOY Texarkana Arkansas police arrested a man yesterday after a lengthy car chase through Texarkana into Genoa and back.
On 4-20-2021, Lt. Rob Hadaway attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 4000 block of South Lake Drive. The driver of the vehicle fled from law enforcement instead. A lengthy pursuit traveled into rural south Texarkana TX and AR, Genoa AR, and back into Texarkana AR before the driver turned down a cul-de-sac in the 3000 block of Locust Street. The driver then backed his vehicle into a Bowie County Sheriff’s Office patrol unit causing minor property damage. The driver, identified as Bryan Russell Yeager, was arrested by the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department for two outstanding felony warrants and Felony Fleeing. TEXARKANA, Ark. (KSLA) A chase involving Bowie County, Texas sheriff’s deputies ended in the backyard of a Texarkana, Ark. home Tuesday.
According to authorities, the chase started around 9 a.m. April 20 in the 4000 block of South Lake Drive in Bowie County when deputies noticed the truck had an illegal license plate. As they tried to stop the truck, the driver fled. Officials with the sheriff’s office say the pursuit traveled into rural south Texarkana, Texas and Arkansas, Genoa, Arkansas, and back into Texarkana, Arkansas before the driver turned onto a cul-du-sac in the 3000 block of Locust Street. It took 1.5 hours before the chase came to an end.
