Arnitta Holliman named new director of Milwaukee Office of Violence Prevention, succeeding Reggie Moore Alison Dirr, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel © City of Milwaukee Arnitta Holliman Arnitta Holliman has been named the new director of the Milwaukee Office of Violence Prevention, Mayor Tom Barrett s office announced Thursday.  Holliman brings a background in psychology and counseling to her work in violence prevention and has a graduate degree from Marquette University, according to the mayor s office. She said in the statement that she was committed to focusing on mental health, preventing gun violence and gender-based violence, and engaging youth.  Trauma and its effects are pervasive and contagious, she said in the statement.  We have to break the cycle of persistent pain in our city.
