It’s hard to find something to complain about when it comes to the 1963 Chevrolet Impala. When you also throw in a removable top, SS tags, and nearly flawless condition, it’s pretty clear something special is sitting in front of your eyes. 18 photos
And this is exactly what this 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS convertible is, as it’s a beautifully restored model that ticks nearly all the boxes for collectors out there.
1963 didn’t bring too many breaking changes to the third-generation Impala, though it further refined the original styling debuted in 1961 and based on the GM B platform.

With the Impala now a model that had to survive on its own, the car ended up being offered in four different body styles for the 1959 and 1960 model years, including 2-door convertible and hardtop and 4-door hardtop and sedan.
The engine lineup included several choices, including a straight-six 235 (3.9-liter) and two V8s, namely a 283ci (4.6-liter) and 348 (5.7-liter).
Needless to say, the 348 was the big star of the show, being offered with multiple outputs between 250 and 320 horsepower. At the same time, a 350 hp version was available with triple two-barrel carburetors.
The 348 big-block unit is the one powering the Impala you’re looking at here, though we’re pretty sure there’s something else that’ll catch your attention first. It’s the car s stunning look, as this Impala is all shiny and exquisite, looking like it just left the factory.

If you wanted the convertible version of the classic Impala, 1972 was pretty much the last year when you could get one, as Chevrolet then retired this model, moving it to the Caprice lineup and offering such a version as an option for the top model. 25 photos
Needless to say, this makes the ’72 Impala convertible a car many people are drooling over, especially when it comes in a condition that doesn’t require tons of fixes.
And the example we have here appears to be ticking most of the boxes in this regard, though it comes with an unusual history and the last chance to find a new owner.

While barn finds, project cars, and rust buckets are something that you can easily find these days, bling machines like the Impala we’re highlighting today are much rarer, especially because they are typically the target of collectors ready to spend a small fortune just to park one in their garage.
Unfortunately, the owner of this 1963 Impala hasn’t provided too many details about the car, probably believing that all the pictures they shared are worth a thousand words, but at the first glance, some could think they might have tried a little bit too hard.

That s because all the improvements the GM brand introduced on the third generation paid off, as they helped pave the way for a highly successful 1965 fourth-generation model whose sales exceeded more than 1 million units in the United States alone.
The 1963 Impala itself was a looker, and the beautifully restored model we have here is living proof of that.
Chevrolet offered a choice of four different V8 engines for the 1963 model year, and the 409ci (6.7-liter) unit powering this Impala convertible was one of them. It’s still the original 4-barrel Chevrolet installed when it built the car, and it’s paired with a 4-speed transmission, both working just fine.
