Lewis & Clark to receive $17.5 million to continue project Fiscal year 2021 dollars to fund work near Vermillion and Beresford, South Dakota, and Sioux Center and Hull, Iowa. 1:30 pm, Jan. 22, 2021 TEA, South Dakota The Lewis & Clark Regional Water System was notified Wednesday by the Bureau of Reclamation that it will receive $17.5 million in federal funding in fiscal year 2021 for ongoing construction. “This is really good news and we are very pleased, said Troy Larson, the water system s executive director. A big thank you to the tri-state congressional delegation for their hard work to secure additional funding for Reclamation’s Rural Water Program. Their continued strong bipartisan support and leadership is greatly appreciated. Our thanks and appreciation as well to the Bureau of Reclamation. They continue to be outstanding partners.”

$17 5 Million Allocated to Lewis & Clark Water System

$17.5 Million Allocated to Lewis & Clark Water System The Lewis & Clark Water System (LCWS) Reclamation’s Rural Water Program will be receiving a total of $17.5 million in federal funding for FY21 for the ongoing construction of the project. With the combined efforts of the tristate congressional delegation, the LCWS will continue the construction of the project. The LCWS is a non-profit wholesale provider of water to its member cities and rural water systems in southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa, and southwest Minnesota.  The current membership stands at 15. According to the latest release, members yet to be connected include Hull, Sioux Center, Sheldon, Sibley, and Madison.
