St Helens man arrested in connection with 16-year-old boy being shot in Kirkby A 25-YEAR-OLD man from St Helens has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Kirkby. The teenager was reportedly shot at around 5.40pm on Monday, April 26 after being approached by two males on Oaklee Grove - one on a scrambler bike, and one on a motorbike. He suffered an injury to the back of his leg and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim remains in hospital and is in a stable condition. A 25-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and possession of a firearm yesterday, Wednesday, April 28.

Murder suspect remains in hospital three months after being hit by train
Detectives have been unable to question the 47-year-old due to the severity of his injuries

The response to the rail incident led to the discovery of a pensioner s body and detectives wishing to question the injured man. But they have been unable to do so because of the severity of his condition.
Emergency services were called after the 47-year-old was struck by a train near Kirkdale station on Friday, January 29. The inquiries that followed led to police attending a home on Folkestone Road in Southport, where the body of Rose Marie Tinton was discovered.
