GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â A Grand Rapids man says he helped dozens of people climb over a wall to the U.S. Capitol during Wednesdayâs riot.
âFrankly, I was hoping the representatives would feel some fear because fear is not always bad,â said Mark Petzold. âThey needed to know itâs serious.â
Petzold says he travelled to Washington D.C. last week with four other people from West Michigan. Petzold says he was protesting a âdecline in representative governmentâ and alleged voter fraud.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Despite the pandemic being so rough on employment, the Incubator Kitchen Program at the Downtown Market had another great year teaching people how to start their own food related business.
Ryan Bolhuis is the culinary operations manager and said the Incubator Kitchen Program helped create 11 new food start-up businesses and mentored 170 local entrepreneurs in 2020. In total, the Incubator Kitchen Program has helped launch 85 new businesses since 2013.

BIG RAPIDS TWP., Mich. â A car crash in Big Rapids Township Saturday afternoon sent one woman to the hospital.
Officers from the Mecosta County Sheriff s Office were dispatched just after 4 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 215th Avenue and Perry Avenue in Big Rapids Twp.
A 83-year-old woman was a passenger in a Chevrolet Equinox, which was rear-ended by a Chevrolet HHR at the intersection.
