A mother who fought for her life while pregnant has held her son for the first time - eight weeks after he was born.
Leo was delivered 10 weeks early by caesarean section after mum Ellie Wright was diagnosed with coronavirus.
The 20-year-old from Walsall was in 30 weeks into her pregnancy when she contracted the virus, and had to be sedated for three weeks.
She was admitted to a critical care unit to fight the virus and pneumonia, while her son was put on a ventilator.

Inspirational NHS physio up for top national award for Covid-19 effort AN inspirational NHS worker in Bradford has been shortlisted for a national Our Health Heroes award for her work during the Covid-19 crisis. Cordy Gaubert, a Specialist Physiotherapist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is one of just three NHS workers nationwide nominated in the 2021 awards’ Outstanding Contribution category. Cordy’s citation on the Health for Heroes award website, says: As lead ICU (Intensive Care Unit) physiotherapist, Cordy spearheaded collaboration across the therapist and multi-disciplinary team, implementing service changes with colleagues to accommodate, meet the needs and aid recovery of Covid-19 patients.
