€850,000 promised for Disabled Persons Grant in Wexford
Almost €850,000 will be made available in home adaption grants for those living with a disability in County Wexford.
€846,710 euro has been set aside by the Department of Housing and Wexford County Council as part of the Disabled Persons Grant scheme.
The funding is aimed at improving the lives of older people and people with a disability by giving them access to vital resources such as grab rails, access ramps and wet rooms.

Over €405,000 has been allocated for adapting and extending the homes of people with a disability or mobility issues in Louth.
The Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien TD and the Minister of State with responsibility for Planning and Local Government Peter Burke have approved funding of more than €23m for the Disabled Persons Grant scheme (DPG) and Improvement Works In Lieu of social housing scheme (IWILs).
Louth County Council will receive €405,903 funding for extensions and adaptations to existing social housing stock for older people and people with a disability such as grab rails, disabled access ramps, wet roomsand downstairs bedrooms.
Minister Burke approves over €23m in funding for the Disabled Persons Grant Scheme & Improvement Works in Lieu of Local Authority Housing Scheme

Fine Gael Minister of State for Planning and Local Government Peter Burke has today approved funding of more than €23m million for the Disabled Persons Grant scheme (DPG) and Improvement Works In Lieu of social housing scheme (IWILs).
Importantly, every local authority will receive the funds they have requested to carry out works this year in 2021. Under both schemes, exchequer funding meets 90% of the cost of the works, with the Local Authority providing the remaining 10%.

Nearly three quarters of a million euro has been awarded for local schemes involving disabled persons and housing improvements.
Louth County Council will receive over €405,000 and
Meath County Council will receive over €323,000 for their Disabled Persons Grant and Improvement Works In Lieu of Social Housing schemes.
It s 90% of the funding required for both, with the councils footing the remaining 10%.
Over €23.7 million has been awarded to local authorities nationwide for the projects.
Local Fine Gael TD for Louth and East Meath, Fergus O Dowd, has welcomed this morning s funding.
