SUVA, June 4 (Xinhua) The reopening of certain businesses under the strict COVID-19 measures will benefit thousands of Fijians, according to the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation on Friday.
Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation President Sandeep Chauhan said that the prolonged closure of businesses will have lots of impacts on the island nation that has a lot of dependency on tourism.
The federation said the reopening of businesses, including hairdressing salons and garment factories, was an essential step towards economic recovery, and would allow Fijians to start earning a living sooner as many people were either on reduced income or completely lost their jobs due to business closures.
