NWS: Severe weather advisory issued for Big Bend area, south Georgia

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather advisory in the Big Bend area and south Georgia until 2 p.m.
The main threat will be damaging straight-line winds, but small hail will also be possible and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out.
Frequent gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be possible with occasional (max) wind gusts of 50 mph.
Torrential rain may cause localized flooding.
All local areas will encounter a cluster of rain and storms Saturday that will cause downpours and wind gusts that can exceed 50 mph.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â The WTXL First Alert Weather Team has declared Saturday a First Alert Weather Day for the Big Bend and southern Georgia. A complex of storms is going to move in from the northwest around late morning and push east across the coverage area throughout the afternoon bringing potential for damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding. A brief tornado and some small hail also cannot be ruled out.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the viewing area under a slight risk.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTL) â The National Weather Service says several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday through the weekend with severe weather possible Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Thursday and Friday have a marginal risk for severe weather generally along and west of a line from Albany to Panama City. Main threats include gusty winds and hail.
Any heavy rainfall received Thursday and Friday will increase chances for flooding with additional rainfall on Saturday. Training of storms over the same areas will be possible.
Friday
Isolated non-severe scattered showers possible before dawn. During the day, spotty showers and storms are expected to form and move mainly north/northeast into southern Georgia.
