Local Cultural Groups Receive Grants Totalling of $120K
This year s award winners of grants from the Broome, Chenango, and Otsego Decentralization Program cover the full spectrum of area cultural groups, venues and organizations. The grant program is administered by the historic Earlville Opera House.
A total of 36 non-profits received up to the maximum award of $5,000. Individual artists were also recipients of monetary awards.
Some of the grantees include Afton Community Theater, Otselic Valley Fishing and Heritage Association, Orpheus Theater of Oneonta, New Berlin Free Library, 6 on the Square in Oxford, Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival, the Chenango Arts Council, Guernsey Memorial Library, the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts, Pathfinder Village, the ARC Otsego, Oneonta Community Concert Band, First United Presbyterian Church, Catskill Valley Wind Ensemble, and others. Health Foundation to give away hams, potatoes
Allegheny-Kiski Health Foundation will distribute free ham and potatoes this month.
The giveaway is limited to the first 100 individuals in need who phone the foundation to register at 724-294-3157 and provide their name, phone number and email address. Registration is limited to one ham and five-pound bag of potatoes per family per phone call. Registrants will be given instructions as to when, where and how the food will be distributed and must arrange for transportation to the distribution site.
