GAZETTE COVERAGE .   Schenectady Christmas carolers could not perform on the Proctors stage, but they found a spot under the theater’s rear entrance marquee during the 1983 holiday season. .   A.J. Bodden, left, and brother Joey of Horstman Drive in Glenville nurture a flame inside a paper bag on Christmas Eve 1987. Horstman residents placed candles in bags along the road as part of a seasonal ritual. The candles were meant to light the way for the arrival of the Christ child.

Bonnie Eckhoff

   Bonnie Eckhoff, 93, Belmond, died Dec. 20, 2020 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 4-6 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church of Meservey, with a viewing an hour before. Burial will take place at a later date. The family requests that masks be worn and social distancing respected. Memorials are suggested to the church or the Lyric Theatre. The funeral will be live-streamed on the Andrews Funeral Homes Facebook page.   Bonnie, the daughter of Chester and Sena Dasen Gunderson, was born March 4, 1927 in Ottosen. She attended school in Alexander, graduating in 1945 as salutatorian of her class.
