Attorney General Hector Balderas Files Suit Against Manufacturers Of Antiretroviral HIV/AIDS Treatment Drugs From the Office of the Attorney General: Santa Fe Attorney General Balderas today filed a lawsuit in the First Judicial District Court of New Mexico against Gilead Sciences, Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb, Gilead Sciences, LLC, and Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc., for violating the New Mexico Antitrust Act and New Mexico Unfair Practices Act. The lawsuit stems from the development, marketing, and manufacturing of several antiretroviral medications used in the prevention and treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (“HIV”) – a disease which, if left untreated, destroys the immune system and leads to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (“AIDS”).

State: Budgetary restraints delay Roswell Escrow receivership

Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record A receivership to manage Roswell Escrow Services Inc. and its assets has not been set up yet primarily because of budgetary constraints and staff shortages and turnovers affecting the New Mexico Regulations and Licensing Department and its Financial Institutions Division, according to a report filed with the New Mexico First Judicial District Court on Feb. 12. Kevin Graham, a lawyer for the Regulation and Licensing Department, and Lucas Williams, the lawyer for the co-owners and officers of Roswell Escrow Services Inc., provided a joint status report to update the court on the case, which is now before Judge Bryan Biedscheid.

Accused La Tiendita Shooter Released on Ankle Bracelet Monitoring

   Timothy Lopez, charged in the Nov. 26 shooting death of Derick Velarde, was released on ankle monitoring Feb. 4, following a Feb. 3 dangerousness hearing before First Judicial District Court Judge Jason Lidyard. Lidyard said the state did not meet its obligation to prove Lopez was a danger to the community and that the incident was focused on one person.     Assistant District Attorney Brittany Davila is prosecuting the case and made the argument to keep Lopez incarcerated at the Rio Arriba County Adult Detention Center, where Lopez has been since the shooting. She called three witnesses, all New Mexico State Police officers.     Agent Daniel Martinez testified that through statements he learned Jimmy Campbell rode with Derick Velarde to La Tiendita Nov. 26 and described Lopez, the man who allegedly shot Velarde.

Officers were originally called to a Smith s store at 10:30 p.m. where a man was reportedly acting strangely inside and saying there was a bomb threat. Upon meeting the suspect, Zachary Kidd, inside the grocery store, Kidd told police there is an active bomb threat on the courthouse, there are two judges trying to play dirty.
