The extreme cold also forced the cancellation of all Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division buses.

Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning Monday morning. An arctic ridge of high pressure is bringing frigid temperatures to portions of central Saskatchewan and Manitoba and extreme windchills of -40 C or colder. Temperatures are expected to moderate slightly Monday morning. However, extreme cold will return for a third night to some areas on Monday evening into Tuesday.
