Fire razes 50 houses in Muntinlupa

Fire at PNR Site, Cupang, Muntinlupa (Photo: Erwin Alfonso / MANILA BULLETIN According to Muntinlupa City Fire Station chief Roberto Samillano, the fire started at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday at the Aquino Damaso Compound in Purok 2, PNR Site, Cupang. Authorities said the fire damaged 50 houses, and affected 65 families or about 253 individuals. No one was injured. The cost of damage to property was estimated at P1.4 million.The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire. The first alarm was raised at 11:36 p.m. followed by a second alarm at midnight. It was declared under control at 1:05 a.m. and was put out at 4:20 a.m.

No permit needed to set up community pantry in Muntinlupa

2 areas in Muntinlupa under 15-day lockdown

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi (Muntinlupa PIO / MANILA BULLETIN) Mayor Jaime Fresnedi issued Executive Order No. 6 and put Cruzero Street in Villa Carolina 1 Subdivision, Brgy. Tunasan, and 124 Purok 1, Bgy. Cupang under lockdown from 6 a.m. on March 13 to 6 a.m. on March 28. Fresnedi ordered the localized lockdowns upon the recommendation of the City Health Office (CHO) headed by Dr. Teresa Tuliao. Tuliao said Cruzero Street has a high attack rate of 57 per 1,000 individual population from Feb. 27 to March 12 and a narrow doubling time of 2 days. The community also has a high population of children and senior citizens. “An attack rate is defined as the proportion of those who became ill after a specified exposure,” according to the World Health Organization. Doubling time is the number of days for cases to double in number.
