27,228 Front Line Healthcare Workers vaccinated for COVID-19 so far February 10, 2021 ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Since the commencement of the COVID inoculation process, 27,228 Front Line Healthcare Workers (FLHCWs) have been vaccinated for COVID-19, it was apprised in the Meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) held in Islamabad on Wednesday morning. Of them, 21,121 FLHCWs have been vaccinated in Sindh, 4,458 in Punjab, 691 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 274 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 239 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 312 Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and 133 in Balochistan. The FLHCWs can check their eligibility by sending their CNIC number to 1166 or visit nims.nadra.gov.pk website. In the first step, a confirmation message containing Adult Vaccine Center (AVC) and a Pin Code will be sent whereas in the second step the FLHCW will be informed about his appointment for vaccination at the designated AVC.

The Covid-19 vaccination campaign was launched in Karachi last week, and as per government guidelines, the first phase of the drive was supposed to be strictly limited to frontline healthcare workers, followed by people aged 65 years and above. Speaking at the launch ceremony, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had said that Sindh had received 83,000 doses of the vaccine, all of which would be provided to frontline health workers.

The NCOC held the inaugural ceremony of national COVID immunisation programme with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar in chair, flanked by National Coordinator NCOC Lieutenant General Hamood Uz Zaman Khan. Commercial Minister Counsellor China Xie Guoxiang was the chief guest where Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Faisal Sultan and SAPM on Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar were also present on the occasion.
