Thiruvananthapuram, April 13 : Former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who turned Covid positive and is convalescing at a private hospital here since Thursday, continues to be under the close monitoring of a team of doctors. A leading gastroenterologist was summoned from Kochi to examine him after he developed gall bladder issues, which he has been having for a while. A medical board is closely monitoring him and is doing regular reviews, said a doctor treating Chandy.

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 18 : Former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that the current incumbent Pinarayi Vijayan will have to pay a heavy price for his arrogance towards hapless and jobless youth who are protesting.
Chandy stated this while interacting with the media after visiting the protest venue where hundreds of youth are on agitating for the past four weeks and also where two youth Congress legislators are on an indefinite fast which entered the fifth day, to extend moral support to the youth.
If one were to see the past history of Assembly elections in Kerala, the incumbent government has never retained power ever since the first state elections. And none had any doubt about the continuation of the trend until the final results of civic polls were out.
But now, even the Communist Party of India-Marxist feels that the LDF would be able to re-write the coastal state s political history by retaining power. Vijayan now nurtures hope of leading the LDF to a historic win next year. Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala
In the given scenario, all eyes are now on senior Congress man and Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala. This is so because the Congress convention has been that the outgoing Leader of Opposition in the UDF gets the CM s post, which has been seen in the case of K Karunakaran, AK Antony and Oommen Chandy.
