City Civil Court has listed her case for hearing on March 15
Former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s close aide V.K. Sasikala and her nephew T.T.V. Dhinakaran have approached the Registry of the city civil court seeking early listing of a civil suit filed by them challenging AIADMK-related decisions taken by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and others.
The suit, which was filed in the Madras High Court in 2017, sought to declare that Mr. Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, Forest Minister Dindigul C. Sreenivasan, former Minister S. Semmalai and AIADMK presidium chairman E. Madusudhanan are not members of the party. Further, they submitted that all actions done by them in their capacity as its office-bearers are illegal and against the bylaws of the AIADMK.
Although, the Supreme Court has barred Sasikala from contesting elections for six years, it will be interesting to note whether Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), the party of which VK Sasikala is President and AIADMK will have a merger.

Former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s close confidante V.K. Sasikala is likely to be released from the Parappana Agrahara central prison in Bengaluru on or before January 27, according to her counsel N. Raja Senthoor Pandian.
The submission was made before Justices M. Duraiswamy and T.V. Thamilselvi of the Madras High Court during the hearing of a case filed by the Income Tax Department in 2008 with respect to her income for the year 1994-95.

CHENNAI: Former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa s close aide VK Sasikala is likely to be released from prison on January 27, her counsel informed the Madras High Court on Thursday.
The submission was made while seeking adjournment of an appeal moved by the Income Tax department challenging the assessment of Sasikala for the financial year 1994-95.
