I forget exactly how the quote reads, but there s a quote from one of Mandy Hale s book that says something along the lines of If it doesn t serve you, get rid of it. It doesn t deserve a place at your table. Jenna s very much living on those terms in 2020 to work toward a better future for and her two children.
One of the difficult steps in that journey was becoming a single mom. She s got an incredible work ethic, working two jobs, but just can t seem to get caught up financially. To make matters even tighter during the holidays, she found out that her full time job as an a teaching assistant wouldn t be paying her over Thanksgiving break or the three weeks her school is closed in December. She s relying on money she s brining in cleaning houses part time, but it s just not enough to pay the bills and provide Christmas for her little ones.
Wendy s dad, Kenneth, has been on quite the roller coaster since last year. He noticed that he was feeling out of breath more often than normal and went to the doctor for a stress test. After the test, they rushed him into surgery where he underwent a six way open heart bypass. His recovery kept him from returning to his job teaching classes at Boise State.
He d been cleared by his doctors to go back to work and he thought he d landed a job with the census bureau, only to have it fall through due to the pandemic. He s living on fixed finances and considered refinancing his house to afford a new roof that he desperately needs for his home. That s on hold for now as most of his income is going toward food and keeping his house warm.

This Christmas Wish is one that Marco insisted was a Hallmark movie in real life. Brad nominated his wife Joanna because he knows that she s in need of some serious selfcare. She s been experiencing some health challenges where if she misses her medication she presents with stroke like symptoms.
Joanna s a massage therapist with no teaching background, so having to take on the task of homeschooling the couple s six and three year old sons has been another challenge. She s home alone with the boys, low on energy and struggling to come up with activities for the boys to do.
When Chrisandra went to drop something off at her friend Kaylee s house, we was devastated to see what the single mom was doing just to be able to see. Kaylee s glasses were damaged and she needs a new pair badly. Unfortunately, Kaylee just went through a divorce, isn t receiving help to care for her little one and isn t able to work at the moment.
While she s got a current prescription, there s just not enough money coming into her household to buy herself a new pair without insurance. After seeing Kaylee s glasses together, Chrisandra reached out to us to see if there was anything we could to do help and possibly find some new clothes for Kaylee s son.

Vanita connected with Jessica through Facebook last year when she came across a Facebook page about Jessica s daughter, Naomi. Naomi is almost two years old and has been battling an aggressive, cancerous ATRT brain tumor. Naomi s cancer began spreading to other areas over her brain and spine and is now considered terminal.
At this point, there s no further treatment that can help Naomi and her parents are treasuring the time they have left with their sweet little girl. When Naomi passes, she ll be leaving behind her twin brother, Felix and big sister, Petra.
