Engineering group Murray & Roberts (M&R) says it has secured yet another hefty contract in Australia, with subsidiary Clough awarded a R1.1bn contract for the expansion of the Tallawarra gas power station in New South Wales.
The announcement of a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction scope of the Tallawarra station follows an announcement in June that the group had secured a R2.3bn contract with the Newmont Corporation, the world s largest gold producer.

Perth-based Clough has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth A$400mn ($309mn) for the second-stage development of the Waitsia gas field in Western Australia, it said on January 11.
The award by Japan s Mitsui and Australia s Beach Energy comes weeks after the pair took a final investment decision on the project, which will ramp up production to 270 TJ/day from 2o TJ at present. The expansion involves adding six wells and a new gas processing plant at a cost of A$768mn.
