The Department of Education has published guidance for schools in respect of the Leaving Certificate Accredited grades process for 2021.
The Accredited Grades Data Entry System has been created and built specifically for the Accredited Grades process 2021. The guide is to support teachers and school principals as they enter the student grades in respect of students that opted for this process.
Some students opted to sit the examinations and some students took both options. The data entry system will open at 9am on Friday, 28 May and will be open until 6pm on Thursday, 3 June. The Department notes that it is essential that all schools and centres of education complete the data entry process on or before Thursday, 3 June.

Good morning,
Last week, the government announced that we have moved to the early stages of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic; finally, there is a real sense that we will get to those brighter days ahead.
Restrictions are being eased carefully, with a focus on finding the right balance between what is safe, what has the greatest social impact and what supports our economic recovery.
Our hospitals and health service are in a much better place to where they were back in January. Our vaccination programme is advancing really well.

Accredited Grades will be generated for all of this year s Leaving Certificate students, even in subjects where they have not opted to receive them.
The move is part of contingency planning to prepare for possible disruption to the June exams due to Covid outbreaks or other factors.
In guidelines issued to schools on Thursday, teachers have been instructed to prepare estimated marks for all students, in all subjects, regardless of the choices the student may have made.
The State Examinations Commission has confirmed that it is a precautionary measure to cover circumstances where it becomes impossible to run the examinations in one or more centres because of a Covid outbreak, or where a student or a number of students are unable to sit one or more exams due to illness or a requirement to isolate or restrict their movements, or as a result of a bereavement.
