Corona claims three more lives in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Three more COVID-19 patients died in the district on Sunday. According to a spokesperson for the Health Department, the COVID-19 death toll had reached 1,155 in the district and 15 people tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours. He said 1,570 tests for coronavirus were conducted in public and private sectors during the same period. He said so far 20,542 patients had recovered from the disease while total active cases in Faisalabad had reached 220. He said 339 beds were allocated at the Allied Hospital, 133 at the DHQ Hospital and 150 beds at General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad for COVID-19 patients. At present, 32 patients were under treatment at the Allied Hospital, while 15 at DHQ Hospital and four were admitted to General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad, he added.

FAISALABAD: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali has said that after reviewing the results of anti-dengue measures, weaknesses and shortcomings should be rectified immediately to eradicate the disease completely.
He said this while releasing larvae eatable Tilapia, Grass Carp and other types of fish in the ponds of Wasa near Jhal Chowk on Saturday.
DHA CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, DHO Dr Bilal Ahmed, District Coordinator Dr Zulqarnain, Deputy Director Fisheries Shahid Maqbool, Deputy Director Wasa Farhan Ali and other officers of various departments were also present.

142,873 kids vaccinated on 9th day of typhoid vaccination campaign

FAISALABAD: As many as 142,873 children vaccinated on the ninth day of ongoing typhoid vaccination campaign in the urban areas of the district.
It was told during the daily review meeting for typhoid vaccination campaign chaired by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali. ADCG Khurram Pervaiz, Health CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, District Health Officer Dr Bilal Ahmed, UNICEF representative Habib Leghari and other officials of the Health Department were also present. The meeting was informed that total 1,375,582 children had been vaccinated so far in the campaign. The DC said that every effort would be made to vaccinate 100pc of the children as per micro plan.
