SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY Confirmed coronavirus cases in Suffolk County hit 103,354 as of Wednesday afternoon, when the county last updated its numbers.
According to Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, the total number reported now includes the number of positives indicated with antibody testing. He added that at times the county map is slow to update to the real-time numbers of reported cases.
The map includes presumptive positive cases with a confirmed address. Presumptive positive cases without confirmed addresses are noted in township not known and not represented on the map. The map doesn t include cases pending from the NYS Department of Health.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY New York health officials on Wednesday reported 1,212 new coronavirus cases in Suffolk County out of 13,620 tests, for a positivity rate of 8.9 percent. The county has reported more than 25,000 new cases in December alone roughly 29 percent of the total cases in the county since the pandemic began.
The sharp uptick prompted a statement Wednesday from Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, who urged residents to keep New Year s celebrations to a minimum as the spread of the virus trends in a dangerous direction in the county.

A new law introduced by Legislator Jason Richberg waiving sewer connection fees for financially stressed public school districts with failing on-site sewage systems was approved by the Suffolk County Legislature at its general meeting on .
IR1867-2020 amends chapter 740 of the Suffolk County Code to waive sewer hookup fees for school districts that are under a state fiscal monitor. Under the amendment, the Martin Luther King Jr. and Lafrancis Hardiman elementary schools in Wyandanch, as well as the nearby administration building and bus depot, will be able to connect to the county’s Southwest Sewer District.
